I'm swearing off the greeting card section at Target. Seriously.

A talented friend of mine, Erin, creates custom cards, keepsakes, and other hand drawn creations through her business, E custom cards. I was so excited to send her the photos and interests of some of my favorite people recently so she could make some handmade cards especially for them.

It was so much fun to work with her to create something truly unique for my family instead of giving the typical mass-produced greeting cards--and for about the same price as what I'd normally pay.

I must say that I am totally hooked! I poured over my calendar in search of upcoming holidays, birthdays and special occasions just so I could order more cards from Erin...and that's a big deal for someone like me who does pretty much everything at the last. possible. minute.

This is the card Erin made for The Boy to give to his grandparents. Here he is riding on the John Deere tractor they gave him for his first birthday.

She made this one for me to give DH. Disney love! <3

I'm sending this one to my sister for her birthday. She works at red carpet events and loves trenta (larger than a venti...and the human bladder) Starbucks iced teas. ;)

This one was a keepsake gift to myself. It's a drawing of our family and represents our passions--DH works with computers and maintains a saltwater aquarium as a hobby, I love to read and can often be found with my trusty iPhone in hand, and our spunky toddler loves Elmo. Even our 4-pound Chihuahua, Sparky, got in on the action!

If you're looking for something personalized and one-of-a-kind, you should definitely check out Erin's website, e-customcards.com, or find her on Facebook. She's so creative and has a lot of amazing hand drawn items, including personalized stationery, coloring books and birth announcements, that you won't find anywhere else.
